| The router of 1800 series |
- It is a layer 3rd device of the OSI model which is Network Layer.
- The main function of the router is to connect different network segments which are situated at a different place.
- Router select the best path as per routing protocol.
- Router breaks broadcast domain of itself.

Use of Router :
The router is mainly used to establish the connection between different range and different class of ip network so that they communicate with each other.
Note:
Different range means having different first octet
e.g. 10.0.0.1 & 20.0.0.5
In the given example there are two IPs having different range because one starts with 10 and the other starts with 20.
10.0.0.1 & 10.0.0.5 (Same range).
